    Ron Hartman, Ron, usually your router will list devices that have connected. Try also AngryIP (beware some AV will delete it!) You can turn on a column to display MAC, or, get your device to tell you via the serial port! Serial.print ("MAC address: "+ String(WiFi.macAddress()));

    Ron Hartman, Ron, describe your issue in the forum where you can get more help and feed back. You need to describe your setup and a copy of the code (use code tags) with a description of any errors.

    Opps Ctrl+Enter! [cont @Ron] C is a weird language in so much as it often churns out a page of errors when "Missing semi-colon Line 350" would have been enough! ;) So always go to the top of your error list and fix the first on (it will make more sense as an error too) Then recompile ;)

    Ron Hartman, And this is a general comment. Quite a bit of what I see (on most forums) is novices jumping in feet first with "their project". They immediately run into the most simple issues because they had not done any background work. You should run through the examples and use the examples that come with libraries. They are there to help you. The first thing I do is break out the paper, pencil & data-sheets. What do I want to do, how can I do it, will the kit do what I want?

    Hey guys, anyone know about RTC memory on ESP8266?

  • User avatar
    androidfanboy - Mon Feb 12, 2018 1:21 pm

    This line works: system_rtc_mem_write(64, &RTCvals, sizeof(RTCvals));

    but this one doesn’t: if (!system_rtc_mem_write(65, &RTCvals.var2, 4)) Serial.println("FAILED!");
