I am here to present a simple design, using esp8266.
The firmware is customized to be a Modbus server, where it is possible to drive GPIOs, receive value of ADC, etc.

your project is very very interesting, but i can test it with esp-01, or just with esp-07 and above?

you can, but esp01 have only a few available pins, and this project in question use some more
