yea it is quite ugly. Its just supposed to be a test wiring. The device turns on, is there something wrong with the pins im using

The last picture was a bit blurry.
How did you hook up GPIO2 ? It must be pulled up to VCC (it's look like you've pulled it down !)

so ive re-wired the thing on a breadboard and am using two double as as a power supply and nothing. I cant get it to work. When i type something on the terminal i dont get any response. I had briefly managed to get something to print back by jiggling wires but nothing again. Im not sure what else im doing wrong
