as for labeling, check out its user manual at https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplication ... id=2487404 which states

The final end product must be labeled in a visible area with the following " Contains TX FCC ID: 2ADUIESP‐12”".

Since you're probably putting the module on a board inside an enclosure, it's not in a "visible area" anyway. So why print the FCC ID on the module? I think what it means is that it's your responsibility then to print the FCC ID on the outside of your product, and they tell you which ID to use that can be valid.

AFAIK, the "Contains FCC" tag is for the enclosure (it's like a partial certification only), but the module itself should/must/? have the FCC ID printed on it.

If you need a certified module:
I know for a fact that the esp-12 module is fcc certified, i have looked at the documents, on fcc site, myself as we needed a certified module for a project (I can post the link from work on monday if anyone is interested.). Other then that I only know of espressifs own wroom module that uses the esp8266 and is fcc certified.

Edited: Sorry, module numbers got mixed up in my mind. It's the ESP-12 that is certified (ESP-07 isn't to my knowledge).
