Supply voltage range

i read a lot alread about this pretty thing. Did somebody try or does somebody know about the supply voltage range? I read 3V3 everythere, but if you are thinking like me about driving it with batteries (as i do) it would be interesting if it can run directly on 2 AAA cells (most of the time deep sleeping) or if it is to few. OR - running on 1S lipo, but it would be too
much when fully charged.
Of course, it is always possible to use a step-up / polulu, but also the step-up consumes power..
Any ideas?
