btw the RXD is protected using a diode so only the low is valid on this line. (The Huzzah just holds an ESP8266-12 with protection for power and lines....)
maybe there is a resistor missing, pulling the RXD up, but I would expect more problems with this board reported on the web


I have ordered a different type USB-serial converter...

Maybe you can try to add one to 3V on the ESP side.

I now have a converter that is recognized by win7 right away and a driver installend

I noticed the driver of the 340 was from 2011, so maybe it is not updated well

That still strange since the CH340 is what been used on the NodeMCU v0.9, although it is maybe why the v1.0 change it for CP2102.
