btw the RXD is protected using a diode so only the low is valid on this line. (The Huzzah just holds an ESP8266-12 with protection for power and lines....)
maybe there is a resistor missing, pulling the RXD up, but I would expect more problems with this board reported on the web


I have ordered a different type USB-serial converter...

#36066 Well, I got me antoher type of USB-serial converter (PL2303) and now everything works again
I now have a converter that is recognized by win7 right away and a driver installend

I noticed the driver of the 340 was from 2011, so maybe it is not updated well
