- Tue Dec 08, 2015 4:16 pm #36014 hi all, i was just trying to upgrade my firmware on the chip esp-01. it kept going around and around and after about 5 minutes i stoped it. now when i plug it in only the red led light up and the board gets very hot. it burns me when i touch it.

- Tue Dec 08, 2015 8:28 pm #36031 What voltage are you powering it at? Computers can typically have two different power levels and sometimes "always on" USB ports. I believe it has to be powered at 3 volts and if you are running it at 5 you can experience the "hotness". Also if you are running the module at high capacity I have had mine get slightly hot but not burning.
