You're right that C35 is not necessary. In my project, C35 and S2 is marked DNP, this mean these components only use in testing, debug.
Second, this is only snapshot, ofcourse I using an LDO. The v2 is updated, I posted on github. May u concern? please have look and comment

Where did you buy the ESP8266EX QFN chip? I can't find it on mouser, farnell, or digikey. Pls help
