Whats the easiest way to have the esp8266-basic receive a command from the web?
With Things speaks talkback i would have to be constantly checking.

If you are asking for specific access methods then the previous answers give you some details.

But if you are asking for an easy general principle 'how-to', you could have your ESP serving web page controls (buttons and sliders etc) for external (port-forwarded) web access.
