#62812 Hi everyone, I'm new around here and I'd like some help about a new project I'm starting ! I want to build an Alexa triggered device using a ESP8266 (Not sure which one) to send IR commands to my home TV, etc. So, after a looot of searching, I'm still a little confused about this things, and maybe some here is kind enough to help me:

1) I would prefer to avoid having to use "Alexa, trigger XXX" as skill, are the ESP8266 capable of supporting any other type of trigger ? Maybe something like "Alexa, turn on TV" or whatever I want ? I've reading about Lamda, Wemo, Etc... and I'm still a little confused about which one requires that trigger or not.

2) I have some experience with Arduino but I'm not sure what ESP8266 device get for this project (considering in particular question 1), and that not all models are available here in Argentina. I was thinking of Nodemcu Esp8266 Esp12 with Cp2102. Is that a good choice ?

Any other recommendations I should be aware of ?

Thanks !
