#70380 Looking to make a thermostat that I can control via my phone in a location that does not have a WiFi network. Normally, I know you can connect the ESP8266 to your WiFi network, get it's IP address, then connect to it via your phone using that IP.

But if you don't have a WiFi network, can you still connect to the ESP? Ideally also using it's webserver functionality to serve up web pages so you can interact with it to read the current temp and set the desired temp.

Am I going down the wrong path here?

Thanks in advance,
Chad
