How to receive and play audio over wlan?

I have already discovered the esp radio and KaRadio project. That would be that what I'm looking for. however, I would only have to receive my own stream.

My questions:
- Are there any smaller projects than the two mentioned above?
- What Windows software must be running on my PC so that the stream can be received by esp / KA Radio? It should just transfer the audio from the PC, I do not want an extra player.
- I guess that the audio quality should be good and is more influenced by the components on the receiving side or?
