I am looking to use the SPI connection to occasionally exchange complete packets or frames with a peripheral device and packets/frames and treat them as if they were recieved like a standard wireless packets. Is there an obvious way to do this with standard firmware or to easily modify somebody's open source firmware to add this functionality? Also, would the ESP32 be a better option with it's open source firmware? I have been attracted to the 8266 because there are so many resources and I like the adafruit huzzah breakout board, but I am open to suggestions if using the ESP32 will make my life easier. Thanks!
