And are there any issues with high comports? Mine is currently on COM17

I am not aware of any. Does COM17 get populated in the port list?

It should automatically populate the pulldown list with the found ports from the registry.

You can always relocate down to COM4 or similar in the Device Manager and try. Let me know if that solves it.

and now all data comes across as shown below.

Those are error messages from the comm port not handling the incoming data.

A disconnect and reconnect should resolve the issue.

- Mon Dec 01, 2014 2:02 pm #3728 Computer auto assigned port 16. I've had a lot of comports in use and a lot plugged in.
Came into work and plugged board in. Still got a high port number same issue at work as at home.
But this time there was nothing in the drop down box at all. Attempted to change comport to COM2 but still nothing in the drop down box.
I am looking forward to using your tool. I am totally new to programming and this board is my first real attempt to try and do something with programming.
