Some SDKs have/had problems with 11n WLANs.
I read about people having success setting to WLAN to 11g (I think).

The router can neither be changed nor modified. There has to be another solution.

Solution is one part. Knowing that this is the problem another.
If you know that you need a newer SDK with nodemcu you should not hold your breadth it seems.
I may give it a second try in the next weeks but newer SDKs use more memory and so you will have less heap if
no solution is found.
Deciding what to take from SDK and what from nodemcus own implementation another.

0.9.6 (beta) fails
1.0.0 fails
1.0.1 fails
1.1.0 works
So something was changed starting with version 1.1.0 that resolves this bug.
