- Tue Jun 16, 2015 1:24 pm #20610 I'm able to use Nodemcu programmer (esp8266flasher) and I can write at firmware and iot.bin without a problem. I can write nodemcu with the instruction INTERNAL://NODEMCU. This all works. But when I try to write a file image of nodemcu, It writes without any errors, but the esp 12 will start up with the Error in flash_read sequence. Don't have a clue how to solve this. Seems some flash has to be blanked ?? Error goes away after flashing at firmware.

This is the board I use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- Thu Jun 18, 2015 7:14 pm #20865 I had the same problem. Lost hope and started using another toolchain. Even the esptool.py seems to be having issues.

- Fri Jun 19, 2015 6:25 pm #20982 See Vowstar's note at the bottom of my FAQ (see link below). The new ESP-12 chips access the flash in DIO mode and note SIO mode as with the earlier models. This double Flash R/W bandwidth but you must use a 0.96 r later firmware build and the latest flasher for the firmware to be written properly and the firmware to work.
