yup, no change, the only thing i havn't changed is the ftdi serial to usb thingy. but it works and will upload code so it can't be that can it?!
i've just soldered on two new wires from tx and rx so they are an inch long.
So to recap:
simple code caused a WDT reboot, but very simple code (like blink) works fine.I've tried:
replacing the module
soldering onto stripboard rather than breadboard and dupont
using a bigger power supply
removing the lm regulator and providing 3.3v directly
increasing to 3.4
unsoldering all other pins except those needed to flash and run
upgrading my version of ardunio
shortening the tx/rx leads
adding a 10uF capaciotr accross gnd and vcc of the module
adding a 1nF ceramic capacitor accross gnd and vcc
adding ANOTHER 1nf in parralel with the 1nF and 10uF capacitor
changing the board parameters in arduino before uploading (Currently ESPDUino (ESP-13 Module), 80 Mhz, 115200, 4M (3M SPIFFS))
using a different computer
worshipping Satan.
Swearing...a lot.

Code: Select all/*
Blink
Turns on an LED on for one second, then off for one second, repeatedly.
Most Arduinos have an on-board LED you can control. On the Uno and
Leonardo, it is attached to digital pin 13. If you're unsure what
pin the on-board LED is connected to on your Arduino model, check
the documentation at http://www.arduino.cc
This example code is in the public domain.
