ESP8266 Community Forum

Code: Select allError downloading http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json

and there are no ESP8266 boards available to choose in the drop-down menu.

- Sat Mar 11, 2017 12:33 pm #63575 I'm having the same problem. It has worked in the past but today, as I installed the IDE on a new machine andtried to access this URL for the ESP8266 boards, the URL now returns a 404 error.

Correction, its not a 404 error. Its an ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED result.
