#14824 EEk, I too have this issue with 1.6.3, i installed 1.6.3 from my previous version of 1.5.7, and then copied the esp8266 com folder to hardware, and after starting ide i can see and select the generic board and port, but i also have not gotten any entry for the esptool in my programmer list. i am sooo soooo sooooo desperate for this method to work. Desperatly hoping this will work or be fixed. and maybe stickied on the forum as there seem to be a growing number of posts on this. :)

#15168 Hi,

I have not tried out Ingmar's solution with 1.6.3 yest, but I did manage to get the whole thing working, Windows 7 32-bit), and a pre-canned version of 1.6.1. Just scroll down to the comments here:

Of course, ideally what Ingmar suggested would be a better option as it is Arduino IDE version-independant, and one can use the latest.

Regards.
