Arduino Code Works on NodeMCU dev boar, but not standalone

Setting up an AP on my nodeMCU dev board is very reliable and robust. However, uploading that same code to a standalone esp-12e is very buggy and only works a fraction of the time. Does anyone know any possible causes of this?

Poor power supply.

Power Supply is desktop BK Precision with bypass capacitor added to circuit from Vcc to Gnd, shouldn't be any issues with power supply.

If you have check the power with a digital oscilloscope, using good technique, and confirmed that you were not getting any glitches, then I would believe you. But just because you have the above connected doesn't mean a lot. How it is all done is very important.
