#47237 Ta for that. Don't have excell any more though. So thought I'd check out Notepad2 and lo and behold - Edit/Block/Modify lines... allows you to Prefix and/or Append text to lines. So just the job!
Looking forward to the day when we can do that sort of thing from with ESP_Basic itself - read a .html file (or whatever), parse it line by line and edit/adjust as required, then spit out the finished .bas file... but until then, Notepad 2 seems a handy freeby to have around.

#47266 Hrmmm interesting article on 595 shift register explaining it a bit more:
http://bildr.org/2011/02/74hc595/

Ready made 595 shift register breakout board here https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10680

Interesting alternative I2C but it supports PWM as well... 10 bux more for pwm though egghhhh just use the existing pins if you want PWM as well :P but who knows someone may need it for a project.
So here that one is: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13601

Read a hackaday article showing someone doing PWM with a 595 somehow or another with timing and asm somehow errr can't find that link anyhow good stuff its nice to be new to some of this stuff every day is another lightbulb moment for me.

#47299 I've been flogging away at trying to send an on-click msg back to ESP_Basic from Firefox for a couple of days now without any success, so I am coming to the conclusion that javascript can't be working, but I don't know how or where it is disabled.

PS : I tested with chrome, could not work with firefox

Have you any idea why your IR demo doesn't work with Firefox?
