I've now tried 4 different ESP-01 modules (the 8 pin 1M black ones and none of them will connect reliably.
Occasionally they will connect, but most of the time they will not.

I did upgrade the arduino environment used to compile esp basic. Do you think it just needs more time to try to connect?

I've judt re-downloaded V3 and it's now Alpha 14
And it connects perfectly now

Found a slight problem
The "PRINT" command only prints to the serial port and not the browser (I tried upper and lower case)
The browser just says at the bottom "waiting for 192.168.1.20..
