Serial monitor?

One of the big plus points about ESP_Basic is that we don't need to use the arduino IDE, allowing speeding through dev and debugging and testing etc, compared to how long it takes for such things when constantly recompiling for C++ on the IDE.

It is therefore personally frustrating to be using the IDE just for its serial monitor facility simply because I don't know any different... so what are you guys using to send and receive serial info to the wee beastie?

And are you using any other handy utilities (for offline editing etc) that we might like to know about?

There are a lot of terminal emulators that makes the job.
You can try Realterm or Teraterm, both open source.
