ESP8266 Community Forum

Dear All

Please help me as I am new for esp wifi technology we are using Zigbee modules for data acquisition in textile mills. The Zigbee range is 90 Meters.please clarify If I replace zigbee technology with esp wifi will it provide same robust reliable working. Environment involves more power lines and machines, Partition walls.

Not specifically a esp8266 question: There is a lot of literature concerning fieldbus systems, so "Google on field bus systems" is the answer.
A few specs:
Zigbee: low power, low bandwidth, sensor/actuator network
Wifi: not so low power, high bandwidth, large data packages
