You could check the nRF24L01+ (Nordic Semiconductor nRF24L01+). It is similar to the ESP8266 in terms of size and connection header but instead of SPI it uses UART with AT commands. It is much more like one of the HC-06 Bluetooth modules. It runs in the usual 2.4Ghz WiFi 802.11 b, g and n. It supports WPA/WPA2 security mode, AP (Access Point), STA (stand alone) and AP+STA mode. Module size: 14mm x 24mm.

I have nRF24L01+ and it does not do Bluetooth, Wifi or any of these protocols. It is a 2.4GHz transceiver and uses its own communication protocol. Can you please provide a link to the module you are referring to.

Thanks.
