nodemcu + micro oled display from sparkfun text display

hi guys,
I'm new here in the forum, I'm having some issue with the NodeMCU and the micro oled display from sparkfun,
everything works fine except that when ever i tried to display text it does not show any text at all, does anyone encountered the same problem as i do? I'm using arduino IDE to write the code for nodeMCU, and the NodeMCU and the oled display is connected via SPI.

If you have the module connected as shown here and are running their test script here then I recommend taking issue to Sparkfun technical support. One of the reasons to buy from Adafruit or Sparkfun is their support and RMA processes since the parts cost is 300% to 400% above cost.

I have used Chinese OLED's and never had a bad one, but anything is possible.
