NodeMcu working question

I usualy connect NodeMcu with USB to MicroUSB from my Computer to NodeMcu.
I have MQTT on NodeMcu and works great.
I have battery to usb adapter that get powered with 4 1.5V AA battery and has USB port. Can I put USB - MicroUSB cable to connect NodeMcu to this adapter instead of USB computer port? Is this regular connection and will MQTT works on my home wifi with this adapter power?
