#65294 The -01 version of ESP8266 was a real big shot, especially when it comes to board size. It is half the size of a WeMos D1 mini, and even half as thick (if not less).

The biggest downsides of the -01 is the missing breakout of GPIO16 (for deep sleep) and of analog in pin (for any analog measuring). If these two pins would be accessible, the -01 version would still be my number one board to consider for most of my projects.

So my question is:
Are there any efforts/projects/plans for a board with
- similar size to ESP8266-01 or -03, (also thickness, e.g. single sided)
- broken out GPIO16 (or solder bridge for deep sleep connection)
- broken out AIN0
- 2.54 mm pitch

Or would there be interest in such a board from other sides?

Best regards,
Thomas

#65335 Thank you very much for your offer, but doing that would not make sense for me.
There would still be much effort, as even the "official" -01 version has 12 more tiny parts (I just counted them) to be organized (bought, propperly placed and soldered). If I would go that step, I would even go the next step right away, and do project specific PCBs with all peripherals (MPU6050, ADS1115, ..., whatever needed) right on the same board.

I am more after a minimal size with managable effort approach. But thanks anyway for your offer!
