unvarnished transmission and receiving data simultaneously

I am using unvarnished/ transparent transmission in UDP and it's working great.
Can I use IDP commands to wait for a string from a host (could be different port) while sending data in transparent transmission? (at the same time)?
Do I need multiple connection for this?
