I must admit that I only used TSOP4838 in my projects, since a purchased a batch of them, and also that Vishay is a well-established company.

Ok, I understand. I will give it a try with the TL1838, normally it should do the job.

FYI: I went for the TSOP2238 and it worked also perfectly in combination with the Wemos.
