Great. I'm planning to build a GPS receiver and ESP into a box and put outside. Would look into solar charging. Any ideas for charge circuit? Primarily for RTC reasons instead of relying on a time server.

Thanks for your useful input. Concerning the current consumption, I was thinking to control ESP-12S with my external micro-controller and to turn it ON or OFF depending on my needs. I will use AP22802AW5 load switch to control the state of ESP-12S (ON or OFF).
This way, when my micro-controller enters deep sleep, the board will consume only 2uA of the current. I think this approach is better than to enter ESP-12S in deep sleep mode. What do you think?
