I want to use esp8266 as a wifi direct on raspberry pi so mobile phone and esp8266 can communicate each other without 'internet connection'. How can I do this? I have searched a lot but I have not figured it out. I have seen the module supports soft AP. Can I create that android and esp8266 communicate with soft AP?(without NO Internet Connection.)

- Sat Aug 01, 2015 10:50 pm #24800 I'm trying to do the same as you. I want to be able to create my own WiFi network, where my Raspberry Pi, Android, and esp8266 can communicate without access to the internet.

So far all I know is that one of these devices needs to be an access point for the others to connect to (probably the rPi is the best for this)
