Does esp is only wpa2 enabled? or is it a bug?

After many test, we found that the esp8266 will not connect to some routers, then we found that all of them are using the wep security . then , we have changed them to wpa , which didn't help.
Then we have changed them the wpa2 and it worked with ALL of them !

Does the essp8266 support only wpa2 networks ???

How are you testing? What SDK version? If it is the current version it is a very good idea to create a post about that problem in the Espressif forums.

On the other hand I think it's pretty smart to not use WEP at all. WEP is as secure as having no security at all, so you'd better disable the WEP encryption altogether then.
