#28800 Well, I've included pull down/up resistors (10k) on GPIO 0 and 2 and still no dice. I have been able to get exactly no response out of the module.

I think the flashing is going fine. Esptool seems ok and all the LED's are flashing.

It might be notable to mention that I am powering the module through a CP2102 which I've recently learned is not ideal. I have a ESP-01 as well, and I've had no trouble using the CP2102 to power it. Also, I am a cr@p solderer (pretty new to all this) so maybe my solder connections are junk/compromised?

Something interesting I've noticed is that after flashing the Espressif 0.9.5 firmware and pulling GPIO 0 up (so it's in AT mode) the USB port doesn't even show up under /dev/tty.* (it does when in flashing mode, of course).

This is rather frustrating. I've bought a nodeMCU dev kit and a ESP-201 which should arrive soon.

#28819 I got mine working with the arduino by connecting
VCC>3.3&CH PD (directly NOT to 3.3v)
TXD>RXD
GND>GND
External power supply to arduino 5v
Plug usb into arduino, then macbook,
Open arduino
select esp12
connection speed to 11,??? (sorry cant remember)
Short the rst pin to gnd and release.
Start typing in AT commands
