#30526 I think you'd better build something like that with an analog (de)multiplexer (gives you up to 8 analog inputs) and an I2C port extender, (or more) to get up to A LOT of gpio's. The port extender won't give you PWM though.

#30544 There was a time that I really was searching for this kind of IC, PWM-without-microprocessor. I couldn't remember why I didn't use this one, so I re-read the datasheet, and now I remember: only TSSOP28 and HVQFN28 packages, no DIP not even SOIC. If that's no problem, it could be interesting indeed. For me the lack of available of PWM-on-chip systems made me shift to microcontrollers, of which I have no regret at all!
