yes, it is. i guess i'll have to buy a public ip.

This is better option, because probably when You can try check it from eg. computer connected to the same local network with esp8266, such a loop is generally not possible to realize through Your router.

P.S. You can try test access to esp with mobile phone too, but when mobile is connected via LTE/GPRS etc (not via Your router)
