I connected my ESP-01 to my Uno using this tutorial - http://www.instructables.com/id/Wireless-Temperature-and-Humidity-Monitor-With-ESP/?ALLSTEPS. Only thing that's different is that my ESP is connected to external PSU, as seen here - http://i.imgur.com/hbvTS2r.jpg. Problem is, when I power on the ESP blue light blinks a couple of times and then it turns off, and I get no response whatsoever in the "serial monitor". I've tried everything. My colleague connected it the same way as me, except he used the 3.3v from the Uno(I cannot do that because my Uno doesn't supply enough current from 3.3v pin) and it worked for him without any problems. I'm even using his ESP module, but with no success. I'm thankful for any help I get.

Problem was that I didn't connect GND from Arduino to GND of external power supply.
