Remote USB Switch

Not exactly sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes.

I have a 3D printer which can be controlled remotely via USB, has any one built a USB switch controlled by WiFi? I am looking to be able to switch 2 USB connections (from different computers) to the 3D controller board. I think I can do the control part of the switching, I am hoping someone may have some pointers on the USB switching part. I suspect I may be able to cobble something together with a relay, but is there an "electronic" way to do it e.g. dedicated chip?

Thanks

You could get one of these for $10 and hack something up; shouldn't be too difficult.

If you want to construct one then the Texas TS3USB30E chip looks like it would do the job without too much fuss.

It is the electronic equivalent of a changeover relay for usb signals.

Available on eBay for modest cost.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will go with the build it yourself chip version. Micorchip has similar chips available as free samples!!
