An USB 1.1 port can be emulated. A simple Attiny can do that, look at the Digispark.
But I don't know if ESP8266 has enough power, RAM and flash to do a WiFi-USB adapter.

Hi,

Just take a look at amazon or aliexpress for examle, there you can find some USB 2.0 Wifi Printserver for less than 20$, or you cabn use a cheap wifi AP which have an in tegrated printserver.
