My gut feel from years of experience is they are playing a fast one, the SPI flash would need to be driven also from that regulator, and I sure its not.

Why 5? Why not 100? Or 1000? The main point of the power supply regulation requirement is so that you can't overdrive the RF amplifier and boost the transmit power.

#9651 Fcc requires the module to have the FCC ID printed on top of the module. Did anyone here get a correctly labeled esp12 yet?

I am actually thinking of using the esp12 in a wearable product. The FCC certification for the esp12 is unfortunately excludes portable devices (i.e. It has to be operated at least 20cm from the human body). Does anyone know how the required SAR testing looks like and how expensive this can be?
