Found an interesting chart on the subject, looks like GPIO 12-14 are in non-initialized state upon boot (as we found out)

Have you connected both sensors to GPIO02 purposely? Would the reading of one interfere with reading from other?

The idea is that the board will have one or the other, not both populated at the same time. I don't have extra PCBs to share yet.
