Check what IO voltage yours CP2102 got. Maybe it's using 5V instead 3.3V.

@gwizz: I have the latest esptool.py from github, and I tried self-build firmwares and several downloaded ones, like the official AT one. But I don't think it matters what firmware yet, as it doesn't get as far as uploading any of its data yet :s
Googling for my issues doesn't result in much info, the other case I've seen was a power related issue from using the programmer to power it, but i'm using a separate AMS1117 3V3 module, with an 1A 5V usb adaptor, that should be enough, right? Or it needs more leveling out with caps?
@Adex: I'm using a Logic Level Converter Bi-Directional V2 - module to connect the cp2102, as to be sure not to fry the esp, connecting tx and rx on the low side of the module gives me echos, so the data s going through ok...

Having the same problem, it flashes and says it was succesfull but no activity afterwards I'll report when I find a solution for my problem.

I solved my problem by using a external power supply
