#62320 Hi,
I'm working on a battery powered project with the Sparkfun ESP8266 Thing.
Since battery life is paramount in this project, I've removed the power LED and even disconnected the i2c resistors.
When I load example deep sleep code to the chip (I'm using the Arduino IDE), I measure 0.45mA power consumption (3.3V power supply from standard AAA batteries). That's 45 times the 10µA stated in the data sheet. I'm powering directly to the 3.3V pin, so bypassing the voltage regulator.
Anyone have the same problem ? Any ideas what can cause the excess power usage ?
Could the power regulation and battery charging circuitry be using power allthough it's not being used ?
There's no external components connected to the Thing board

Thanks,
Stefaan
