Hi all,
I love the D1 mini board from Lolin or Wemos, they "created" this form factor so I want to buy their products instead of the cinese clones but...

they have no "attach" for an external antenna.

is it possible to workaround the problem and attach an external antenno to those baords?

A mini wifi board with 16MB flash, external antenna connector and built-in ceramic antenna based on ESP-8266EX

????

If you look at the picture of the device and read the description you will see that it has a PCB antenna!

Also to use the external antenna you need to change the position of the zero ohm resistor. A Very fiddly job!

Hi, a valid point that a modification is required to use the external socket. In reality the surface mounted resistor is so small it will come off the board if you heat one end with a standard soldering iron, the remaining pads that need to be linked are closer that some of the jumper pads I’ve come across.

This should be well within the scope of most people with a soldering iron.
