I have only now received my boards and I am going to experiment a bit to come up with the best selection ... here are some reference designs to help get started ... the pcb design allows for flexibility on using either two or four caps for the 1117 ...

Got the boards. Waiting on the rest of the parts.
Then to figure out how to solder these things. Never did SMD devices before.

Any tips appreciated...
