I have never seen a healthy wemos that draws even close to 600mA.

Don't forget the spikes when powering on (a.o. calibration).

if you size the powersupply according to the spikes, you are either german or never worked in r&d.
And no, even the spikes aren't close to 600mA.

You're missing the point here: I was taking a guess at the actual power consumption (since I personally only use plain ESP's on battery power and dev boards on 5V chargers/PC ports, so I'm in a luxury position) and obviously I was a few hundred milli-amps off. :roll:

The thing is that (I guess obviously) the solar panel is not big enough to successfully power both a step-up convertor and Wemos, so the Voltage drops under load (at least under the current lighting conditions).
And again, before people are again trying to nitpick, first do some testing and measure the actual current the panel is able to deliver, before trying to find a cure to power a Wemos from it. :idea:
