O God, index table on ESP-12 board bases , next ESP-xy will have different pins arrangement and nothing will work ..
AT commands are ok .

One limitation I have found as using this vs. a ATmega is analog sample rate. Espressif on twitter said that you can only sample at 200Hz, vs. ATmega328 can do 200kHz, which rules it out for me to sample a microphone.

@CptanPanic HW is fast, but software needs processing time. probably 200 Hz is OK.

That is interesting information, thanks for sharing.

Of course it would be even better if Espressif would simply come up with a proper datasheet.
