#18261 I've read that if you change firmware you should erase the firmware first. I'm not sure if the NodeMCU Flasher does a full flash erase but I hope that it would do this for you so this might not be the issue.

I noticed it looks like you are powering the module with your USB adapter. While these do provide 3.3V it is usually limited current and I've found that flashing requires a more stable power source than when you are running code. If you have a 3.3V power source trying using that and see if you get better results.
