Hello... I am pursuing Ph.D. from JNU, New Delhi. I want to operate the external antenna on ESP8266 07 module for which some changes on the wifi module chip have to be made. Please let me know what changes are to be done to the wifi module to activate its external antenna.

In my opinion You have to desolder C6 capacitor.
After that, the internal antenna will be disconnected and will not disturb the RF signal. Only way for RF signal to go in/out to/from PCB will be the UFL connector.
