#26726 I've got an ESP8266-12 connected to an FTDI jumpered at 3.3V. CH_PD is connected to VCC and GPIO15 is connected to GND. ESP8266 Gnd is connected to the FTDI Gnd. ESP8266 VCC is connected to the FTDI VCC. ESP8266 TX is connected to the FTDI RX. ESP8266 RX is connected to the FTDI TX. My computer doesn't recognize the USB connection. The TX and RX leds on the FTDI are rapidly flashing in sync. If I remove the ESP8288, the computer recognizes the FTDI. If I reconnect it , the USB connection is lost. When the FTDI is connected, the blue led on the ESP8266 momentarily blinks then stays off. Nothing on either board is over warm. Any ideas? Thanks - Scotty

#26898 That... But in my experience, the FTDI converter can easily supply an esp8266 (even though not officially), I do it all of the time. Maybe wrong voltage selected? Short circuit?
